Dr Per Julin
Dr Per Julin is a physician and researcher at the Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society, Karolinska Institutet, Sweden, and a specialist in rehabilitation medicine. He was formerly senior consultant at the ME/CFS policlinic at the Neurological Rehabilitation Clinic, Stora Sköndal Foundation, and has more recently worked at the post-COVID clinic at Karolinska University Hospital in Huddinge.
His research focuses on the neurobiology of cognitive disorders, particularly structural and functional neuroimaging using MRI and PET or SPECT, in relation to diagnosis, symptoms, treatment and rehabilitation, and other biomarkers. His current focus is on ME/CFS, including studies of brain perfusion and immunological and virological correlates of long COVID.
Dr Julin has clinical experience with ME/CFS since 2010 and served as an external expert on the Swedish Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Assessment of Social Services (SBU) review of ME/CFS, published in 2018.
